Imperator" (Cunard Steam Ship Company) from New York to Southampton departing 11th December 1919 Arriving Southampton 24th December. The mail was probably damaged due to the stormy weather conditions in the North Atlantic. The mail was delivered to London where Boxed 'DAMAGED BY IMMERSION / IN SEA WATER' applied Imprint of another adhesive on the reverse, through water damage.
1929 registered airmail envelope addressed to Pretoria. Franked single and a block of four 1d Badge adhesive, together with a South African 4d tied 'ST HELENA' c.d.s. 'DE 28 29' The South African 4d was applied to pay the internal airmail. This is the first usage from St Helena I have seen with the added South African adhesive, I have seen a couple of usages from Ascension off the same period.
1943 Great Britain 6d airletter from Middlesex addressed to General Klopper, South African Forces. Middle East. Two line 'RETURNED TO / UNION of S.A.' struck in violet. A.P.O. CAMP 20' cancellation on the front. Airletter directed to Roberts Heights. General Klopper, commanded the 3rd Infantry Brigade, promoted to Commander 2nd Infantry Division. Retuning to South Africa in 1943. He was awarded the D.S.O.

1865 Standard Bank of South Africa cheque issued at Kings William Town for Six Pounds & Five Shillings. The fee paid with a 1d Triangular adhesive, a three margin example tied by manuscript date '23/1/65' and initialed. Straight line 'PAID' and '9 FEB 1865' The first time I have seen a triangular adhesive paying the fee. Printed cheques were not issued in South Africa until the mid 1880's Edge faults & folds.
1947 Postage 2d, Registration 3d (5d) registered stationery envelope (H2) addressed to Suva. On the reverse additional 5/- 1/5d 1/2d & 2/- adhesives tied 'LABASA' c.d.s. '3 NOV 47' paying the insured fee for £300 Red/Black 'INSURED / (VALEUR DECLAREE')' label. A rare usage on internal insured mail.

1963 registered envelope (stamps washed off) from Mangaia. Addressed to Wellington. Carried on the ketch "Siren" returning from Mangaia, struck the reef on entering Avatiu Harbour on the evening of 12th July. Photocopy of letter from Cook Islands Post office included.
