1917 censored postcard sent from Naval Ensign Kanzo Gondo, Sasebo Marine Corps on the destroyer Kashai to Japan and posted on arrival at Yokohama on 4th October 1917 The card was written on 15th August 1917 the writer says "He arrived safely and not to worry" Mail from Japanese sailors wast aken back to Japan and entered the post there. In April 1917 8 destroyers and a cruiser from the Japanese Navy arrived at Malta to escort Allied shipping that was being heavily attacked by German U boats in the Mediterranean. The destroyer 'Kashi' arrived in Malta in June.
