'28 FEVR 04' 'LAR REUNION A MARSEILLE LV.No. 3' d/s '7 MAR 04' The naval crest on the reverse suggests that the cover was posted by a German Naval Officer during the ships visit to Zanzibar. In the final months of operation of the French Post Officxe, supplies of Zanzibar stamps ran short on several occasions. To cope with the shortfall unoverprinted French stamps were used on French P.O. mail.
