He was part of the 9th Contingent that sailed to South Africa on the S.S. Kent on the 12th March 1902

The envelope was carried on Imperial Airways "Scipio" The crash slip is similar to Nierinck 360822 'vv' except the word "Scipio" begins and ends with inverted commas.
