1919 postcard addressed to Nottingham. franked 1d adhesive tied part 'NEVIS AO9' duplex 'NO 28 19' Carried on the "S.S. Imperator" (Cunard Steam Ship Company) from New York to Southampton departing 11th December 1919 Arriving Southampton 24th December. The mail was probably damaged due to the stormy weather conditions in the North Atlantic. The mail was delivered to London where Boxed 'DAMAGED BY IMMERSION / IN SEA WATER' applied Imprint of another adhesive on the reverse, through water damage.
