1914 censored envelope with letter addressed to Steinkopf Namaqualand. Franked 1d adhesive tied 'CAPE TOWN' c.d.s. '8 AUG 14' on arrival redirected to Springbok. Manusccript 'CENSORED' on the front. On the reverse Pink/Black 'OPENED BY CENSOR' dated and signed by the censor in manuscript 'Springbok 22/8/14 Le Frebve' The enclosed letter has been censored for the contents, the letter states "he will write to tell you to help the Germans when they start in G.S.W.A., but I tell you that you keep out of it"
