1933 envelope addressed to Nairobi. Straight line 'H.M.S. "HAWKINS"' struck in blue 'KILINDINI' c.d.s. '17 JY 33' 1929-1933 Ethiopian Emergency caused by Ethiopian border raids. No military fighting occured but H.M.S. Hawkins was sent to patrol the coast and "Active Service" free postage wasgranted to the crew. Few examples recorded.
