1940 envelope addressed to Market Harborough cancelled 'TORONTO' slogan d/s 'MAY 28 1940' Stamp washed off. The envelope was carried on the "S.S. Eros" which was torpedoed by a German submarine on June 7th off the coast of North West Ireland. The envelope is marked in red pencil "DAMAGED BY SEA WATER" Possibly applied by the Irish Post Office in Dublin.
