Franked vertical pair 1d tied manuscript 'POST OFFICE TULAGI /13/4/42' Marchant played a key role in the region during WW 2 He was responsible for evacuating European settlers from the islands before the Japanese occupation, and he organised coastwatchers units to support the Allied cause.
