1900 envelope from Glasgow addressed to South Africa. Two line 'Receovered from the Mails/Looted by the Boers on June 8th' struck in black. The cachet applied by APO 47 at Bloemfontein and refers to an incident at Roodewal where the Boers captured a large number of mail bags postal orders etc. On the reverse 'V crown R' officially sealed label.
