1953 envelope from Didcot carried on the B.O.A.C. Boeing stratocruiser G-ALSA aslso known as "Cathy" which overturned on landing at Prestwick Airport en-route to New York on Christmas Day. A scarce destination for the mail, as most of the recovered mail was addressed to Canada or the U.S.A.
