1938 taxed envelope the adhesive has been washed off large part Port Morant cancellation '8 NO 38' The envelope addressed to Bristol on the United States Lines Company vessel S.S. Washington on a voyage from Jamaica to Plymouth received storm damaged during the voyage. Boxed 'DAMAGED BY IMMERSION / IN WATER' struck in violet. One of three recorded examples. On the reverse is a repair label, amended in manuscript.
